3M’s relationship with Clean Harbors to encompass end-to-end management of waste handling and disposal from sites across the U.S.
3M and Clean Harbors, a leading provider of services for waste handling and disposal, have announced a new collaborative effort to bring best-in-class status to waste handling and management aspects of 3M’s operations. Through this collaborative effort, Clean Harbors will assume primary responsibility for end-to-end waste management from more than 90 sites to their dedicated facilities.
“3M’s success is driven by bringing together people, ideas and science to find innovative ways to solve challenges, and today’s announcement is another example of how we can do just that through collaboration,” said John Banovetz, Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer and Environmental Responsibility. “By expanding our work with Clean Harbors, we can leverage their expertise to further advance 3M’s waste handling and management operations.”
3M anticipates discontinuing the operation of its incinerator at Cottage Grove by the end of this year. Incineration is an important technology for global manufacturers to support sustainable and responsible operations, including through reductions in greenhouse gases, air emissions of certain chemicals and other materials.
3M proudly collaborates with companies that bring a science-based approach to their work. We will continue to do so as we serve our customers and communities.
