3M is joining hundreds of global leaders in Singapore on November 6-7 for the first New Economy Forum to address the changing world economy.
3M joined the Forum as a founding partner to engage with a community of leaders committed to finding solutions to shared global problems.
“The world economy is rapidly transforming, and we are pleased 3M is taking a leading role in building a collaborative global Forum to address the many great challenges and opportunities of our time,” said Mike Roman, 3M CEO.
3M is joined by 10 other New Economy Forum founding partners including ExxonMobil, FedEx, HSBC, Hyundai Motor Company, Microsoft and SoftBank Group.
The Forum’s Advisory Board includes former Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon, Alibaba Executive Chairman Jack Ma and Bill Gates. The Forum’s Honorary Chair is Dr. Henry A. Kissinger. Wang Qishan, Vice-President of China, will deliver a keynote speech on the morning of November 6th.
The New Economy Forum represents an opportunity for leadership and collaboration on important topics such as worker safety, the future of mobility and transformative emerging technology.
3M will lead a panel discussion ‘How the Future of Work will Improve the Quality of Life.’ Mike Roman will be joined by two other speakers on the panel: Luis Alberto Moreno, President, Inter-American Development Bank and Oscar Munoz Chief Executive Officer, United Airlines. The discussion will be moderated by Arianna Huffington Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Thrive Global, who launched the Huffington Post.
Mike Roman will also discuss 3M’s technology, manufacturing, global capabilities and brand strength on the panel, ‘Managing the Supply Chain Threat’ focused on the changing global manufacturing landscape.
H.C. Shin, 3M Vice Chair and Executive Vice President will be speaking about 3M’s commitment to Sustainability in manufacturing in a workshop focused on solutions ‘A New Approach to Greening the Supply Chain.’
